WhileWhat If…?season 3 won’t be released until late 2024 or early 2025, this is still far earlier than any MCU X-Men film will premiere.
Including Storm inWhat If…?season 3will be an interesting prospect, as the show has given fans some seriously far-out versions of their favorite heroes and villains in situations that would never occur in the mainline MCU. While theWhat If…?format is so successful that Disney is rumored to be making aWhat If..?series for theStar Warsfranchise, this doesn’t mean that everyone is on board with Storm making her first MCU appearance in the show. Despite being something fans enjoy deeply, the show has no responsibility to present the character accurately, nor does any new and unique take on the character have any chance of sticking in actual canon representations.
The rumor’s veracity has also been questioned by fans, as people who worked onWhat If…?have claimed they weren’t allowed to use characters who haven’t already appeared in live-action MCU projects, meaning Storm would be off the board.
