Xbox introduced players earlier this year to FPS Boost, a new backwards compatibility feature utilizing different methods to increase a previous-generation game’s framerates to appear visually smoother while retaining the core gameplay.FPS Boosthas already been used to enhance various games on the Xbox Series X, and the company is far from done.
Xboxrecently announced a new list of Xbox video games that now have the FPS Boost feature supported when played on the next-generation Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and it’s well over 70 titles. According to the post, the full list will be regularly updated so that even more games will receive FPS Boost.

The total number of games that support the feature so far is 97 games, plenty of which are also available in Xbox Games Pass and EA Play. The full list covers many games. Some of the most notable games include a long list of popular titles that have come out in recent years. This includes games such asAlien Isolation, multiple entries from theAssassin’s Creedseries likeAssassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection,Dishonored: Definitive Edition, EA’sStar Wars Battlefront 2,Titanfall 2,Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and more.
The list also includes various independent video games that have FPS Boost as well. Some notable examples includeDon’t Starve: Giant Edition,Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, andLife is Strange. Others includeMy Friend Pedro,Overcooked 2,Superhot, and the popularUntitled Goose Game. There are plenty of titles on the list for players to check out FPS Boost with.
However, the list also reveals that the feature will not be available to some of the games on the next-gen Xbox consoles. For example, games likeAnthem,Battlefield 1,DiRT 4, andLife is Strange 2will have FPS Boost on the Xbox Series X but not on the Xbox Series S. While a couple of games, such asMotoGP 20andSteep, will have the FPS Boost on the Xbox Series S but not on the Xbox Series X. So, players can check the list to see which games have it or not for the specific console.
Players can check to see if a game has FPS Boost support by tapping the Xbox button on their controller. Then they can check the Guide overlay indicator in the upper-right corner to see if the feature is enabled or not. Most games should have it on by default, but it can be manually enabled in the Manage Game section of a title, selecting Compatibility Options, then checking the box for it.
