That appears to be changing as it seems Nintendo now has more to showcase in terms of the upcoming game.
Earlier this year, Nintendo officially revealedXenoblade Chronicles 3via an announcement trailer, and the video itself showed off quite a bit. From familiar character designs to the large, sweeping landscapes thatXenoblade Chroniclesis known for, the third installment will likely have a lot going for it. In terms of active gameplay, the trailer didn’t show that much, but as of today, fans will have a much better idea of what combat will look like inXenoblade Chronicles 3.

A new press release from Nintendo revealed several new details regarding combat inXenoblade Chronicles3. As seen in the announcement trailer,Xenoblade Chronicles 3will have up to seven playable characters during active combat, with each one having their own individual class that can be customized later in the game. Not to mention the new Interlink system, which causes tag team pairs to transform into a gigantic creature called Ouroboros, which appear to be similar to the Skells inXenoblade Chronicles X.
In a lot of ways, the combat system builds uponXenoblade Chronicles 2,seeing as the previous installment had players controlling six characters at once and also featured a class system. Although, the classes inXenoblade Chronicles 2didn’t allow for any sort of customization, whereasXenoblade Chronicles 3will give players a lot more creative control in that regard.
It’s amazing to see how farXenoblade Chronicleshas come as a franchise. The originalXenoblade Chroniclesreceived a limited release in North America back in 2012, and since that time, major characters in the series likeShulk have appeared inSuper Smash Bros.and numerous additional installments have been released on multiple Nintendo platforms.
In any case, it will be interesting to see whatMonolith Softhas in store for its player base. The core strengths of theXenoblade Chroniclesseries have always been the expansive, detailed environments, the intricate world-building, and memorable narratives. It seems fans will certainly have a lot to look forward to in terms ofXenoblade Chronicles 3.
