A shockedLegend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Playerdiscovers the sages that are supposed to be helping them are actually on top of the enemy. The clip itself may be short, but it also could be one of thestrangest glitches inZelda: Tears of the Kingdomso far.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdommanages to use the content found inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildas a foundation and adds so much more to the world and the mechanics of the game. One of the new additions is the concept of sages, not just for the story, where the sages play a critical role in aiding Link in his fight against Ganondorf, but also in the gameplay. As the player progresses throughTears of the Kingdom, they pick up different “vows” that allow them to interact with avatar versions of the newly awakened sages and use their abilities. As long as the “vow” is active, the sages will follow Link around Hyrule, usually staying out of the way but sometimes ending up in strange places.

Reddit user Benkins1989 posted a video showing one of the strangest places theTears of the Kingdomsages have ended up so far. In the clip, Link is seen running up to a Battle Talus, one of the mini-boss-typeenemies in theTears of the Kingdom. He zooms in to get a better look at the top of the creature to find all four of his sages standing on the monster, doing nothing.Warning:spoilers for the identity of each sage in the video.

TheBattle Talus found inTears of the Kingdomis another example of building on the foundation ofBreath of the Wildby taking a regular Talus from that game and adding a platform where Bokoblins can attack from and a treasure chest ready to open after it’s defeated. When it comes to the sages, it makes sense for Tulin to be on the platform since he can fly. But as for the other three, there’s no reason they should be up there. And if they’re going to be up there, the least they can do is attack the Talus’ weak spot.

It’s unclear if this clip is due to a glitch in the game or because of the somewhat lacking AI that theTears of the Kingdomsagesseem to have. One trick that the player could have used is his whistle. Whistling while near the sages will call them towards Link, which may have gotten them down from the Talus.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available on Nintendo Switch.
