The FPS genre has always been highly competitive since so many game developers recreate the same formula that hardcore gamers enjoy the most. But, that leads to having many FPS games that look and play nearly identical, which leaves gamers with minimal choice of which one to play. But, the truth is that over the years, several FPS titles have flown under the radarof gamers that are well worth their playtime.

One unique FPS game that many players have overlooked isZiggurat 2, which blends in elements found in an FPS with medieval fantasy.Ziggurat 2also features a unique Perk system that lets players gain power-ups, allowing them to complete missions a lot easier. But, with so many Perks available, players will need to know which one will help them reach the end.
8Channeling - Utility Perk
Amulets are vital inZiggurat 2since theygive players an extra set of abilitiesthat they can use to defeat enemies. But, Milkstone Studios placed lengthy cooldowns on the amulets since they didn’t want players to rush through the levels by spamming Amulet abilities. Fortunately, the Channeling Perk increases the recharge rate of amulets by 15%, which makes a difference on higher levels.
But, players should be aware that this Perk also has a cooldown, so spamming amulet attacks is still impossible. Channeling would be ranked a lot higher if it didn’t have that cooldown.

7Meditation - Mana Perk
It’s no surprise that magic builds are among the top builds inZiggurat 2since they can dish out a massive amount of damage within seconds. But, even if a player has the most powerful spells in the game, it’s nothing if they can’t replenish their mana. And that’s where Meditation comes into play, as it helps players recover 25% of mana and health.
But, the major downside of this Perk is that it’s not permanent, so once the player uses Meditation, it’ll disappear. So, players would do well in using this Perk only when in a life or death situation.

6Safe Path - Defense Perk
As already mentioned,Ziggurat 2isn’t your average run-of-the-mill FPS, so players shouldn’t be surprised to know that the game also features deadly traps (quite similar to those found inOrcs Must Die! 3). And while players can avoid most of these traps, there’s always a slight chance that the player will make the wrong turn and ends up in a tricky situation.

The Safe Path Perk is the perfect solution to that problem since it reduces the number of traps found in each playthrough. On top of that, players will suffer from fewer negative modifiers, making it easier to keep pushing to the end of the level.
5Avarice - Utility Perk
Picking up new equipment is vital for players to progress through the main story campaign ofZiggurat 2. But picking up items isn’t always as easy as it seems since every level has its own dangers, some of them being deadly traps. So, players will either have to risk their lives to pick up precious loot or leave it there and hope it wasn’t anything of value.
The good news is that Avarice can help players pick up any loot, no matter how far they are, since its primary ability is to attract loot toward the player. But, of course, this Perk comes with a catch since it also lowers the enemy’s drop rate by 10%.

4Death Pact - Growth Perk
Death seems to go hand in hand with FPS games, especially those considered hardcore. Dying inZiggurat 2is no different since even seemingly straightforward enemies are the most difficult to beat. And nothing is more disappointing than being defeated by a common enemy in any game unless players have an ace up their sleeves, which is the Death Pact Perk.
This Perk deserves a spot as one of the best Perks inZiggurat 2since it saves a player from a mortal hit once. And that includes self-inflicted damage, which often happens to players that like using spells.

3Scholar - Utility Perk
Unfortunately, players can only pick one Perk every time they level up (unless they have the Bookwork Perk), which means that the higher a player is, the longer it’ll take to choose another Perk. That’s why players should try to prioritize getting the Scholar Perk since it increases Experience gain by 20%.
And the best part is that there’s no hidden catch, which means players can safely pick this Perk without any negative modifiers. But, players should note that the 20% Experience gain comes only from Knowledge Gems and nothing else.

2Bloodlust - Healing Perk
This Perk seems to come straight from a horror game since it essentially makes players bloodsucking vampires, but instead of sucking the life from enemies (since it’s among the few kid-friendly FPS), they use the experience found in Knowledge Gems. And that means players can recover their full health without wasting an HP pot, which is often needed during difficult boss fights.

But, there’s a downside to the Bloodlust Perk: players will need to sacrifice experience if they want to recover their health. So, players that use this Perk will need to carefully consider if leveling at that moment is more important than refilling their HP bar.
1Bookworm - Growth Perk
Undoubtedly, the best Perk players can pick is the Bookworm Perk since it shows players two extra Perks every time they level up. This is especially useful at the early levels of the game since choosing the right Perk is essential to pass certain early bosses.
Since the higher the level a player is, the more Perks become available, so by having the Bookworm Perk, players have a higher chance of getting a Perk they need. Players that choose Saiph as their main class will reap more benefits with the Bookworm Perk since it allows them to see 3 Perks instead of 2.

Ziggurat 2is available now for PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
